The main aim of association is to support the idea of local governments and to increase the role of active forms of mobility in Polish local governments.

Solving transportation issues is one of the most important challenges facing Polish local governments. The experiences of the most successful cities, regions and countries in maintaining high quality of life shows that their success depends on the adoption of appropriate principles of shaping local development, taking into account the advantages of active mobility.
Active mobility is understood here as any means of transportation that makes use of natural human energy (e.g. cycling or walking), also with connection with public transport, and is an alternative to the traditional – i.e. motorized – means of transportation, especially private cars.
The main aim of the association is to increase the investment and touristic attractiveness of member cities and communes, achieved, among other, by improving the quality of local public space.
Association was initiated in 2010 by signage of Gdansk's Chart of Active Mobility and have it's headquarter in Gdansk, Poland.
We are creating and implementing initiatives to popularize active forms of mobility as an element of everyday transport, their impact on the shaping of public space, quality of life, health and safety of residents.

Expert services
We are finding solutions in the field of actions for sustainable forms of mobility and providing access to a wide range of experts. We are specializing in preparation of strategic documents, such as BYPAD or SUMP, organization of conferences and international study trips and comprehensive production of various multimedia forms.
Promotion & education
We are initiating and comprehensively implementing promotional campaigns to popularize active forms of mobility as an element of everyday transport, their impact on the shaping of public space, quality of life, health and safety of residents. We are publishing promotional materials and publications.
EU non-structural projects
We support local governments in the process of searching for projects and partners, in applying and implementing non-structural projects co-financed from EU funds. We have a broad experience in realization of the projects co-financed from various programmes.
Polish Union of Active Mobility is an associate member of European Cyclists' Federation.
